Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, was on Saturday, July 26, 2025, conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Administration by the University of Port Harcourt.
The prestigious award was presented during a special convocation ceremony held at the university’s campus in Rivers State. Governor Fintiri received the honour alongside former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, whom he described as a friend and brother.




Expressing gratitude to the university community, Governor Fintiri said, “My profound appreciation goes to the Council, Senate, faculty, and students of the University of Port Harcourt for this recognition.”
He further noted that the honour has strengthened his resolve to serve with renewed energy and vision. “I rededicate myself to the cause of good governance and nation-building—and will continue to lead with humility, purpose, and a heart for service,” Fintiri stated.
The award marks another significant milestone in Governor Fintiri’s public service career, as he continues to gain national recognition for his leadership strides in Adamawa State.
